About

Lineage - Deva Daricha

Deva Daricha trained with Jack Painter and Joy Johnson, in Postural Integration in the US.
He brought this work back to Australia where it further evolved to become a state of the art training
in bodywork.

He founded the Centre for Human Transformation near Melbourne, Australia (1990-2009) to teach
a range of courses including Body Transformation and Breathwork. Along with other
transformational practices and technologies he gave students the gift of this immersive and
expansive system of healing.

Sadly, the Centre was destroyed in the February 2009 Victorian Black Saturday bushfires. Daricha
continued to teach and mentor his student Suzanne Zankin at trainings in Victoria and the ACT.
In 2020 Daricha named Suzanne his successor. Suzanne continues to honour and teach this
extraordinary work which is now, more important than ever.

Trainer - Suzanne Zankin

Suzanne, a practitioner of Transformational Bodywork and a highly experienced teacher, will lead
this training.

Suzanne has been a practitioner and teacher of somatic therapies for over 25 years. With a
background in Social Work and talk therapies, she embraced working with the body in the early
1980’s starting with reflexology and massage. She has extensive experience as a teacher of
Therapeutic Massage and Breathwork.

In 2002 Suzanne began her training with Deva Daricha at the Centre for Human
Transformation. Upon graduation, Suzanne regularly assisted Daricha in bodywork trainings.  She
is now honoured to carry on Daricha’s legacy and excited to bring this extraordinary work to a new
generation of students.

The Training

For personal and professional development

This transformational bodywork program is taught over three, 8 day immersive training modules. Each module consists of 80 hours of class time which includes reviews and student practice clinics.. Modules 2 and 3 are delivered in a residential setting, allowing a deep descent into the process, undisturbed by the demands of everyday life.

After each module students are expected to attend review days of each session followed by supervised practice clinics. Further details will be provided

If you are prepared for personal transformation or looking to deepen your professional practice, this training may be for you.

Transformational bodywork starts where massage ends. Through this intense and profound training you will not only learn an effective bodywork modality but also enter into a process of personal development. This will be challenging at times and equally rewarding.

The philosophy of head, hands and heart – thinking, doing and feeling is central to this programme.

Teaching model

Teaching will take the form of a full practical demonstration of each session followed by comprehensive instruction of the sequence of strokes. You will work with your fellow students to give and receive each session and have the opportunity to work through the sequences with volunteer models.

We will sit in circle to deepen the experience, clarify the teaching and share learnings. You will also have an opportunity to experience various complementary practices to support your learning.

Teaching and support will be tailored to individual needs with access to supervised student clinics and an ongoing internship to support your professional development. Training is limited to small groups of no more than 10 participants to ensure close one-on-one attention.

Do I need any special skills?

A background in massage therapy or other somatic therapies can be useful, though not required. Likewise, knowledge of anatomy and physiology is an advantage but not essential.

Assessment

Attendance, participation and conduct during the training and at supervised practice clinics, forms part of your ongoing assessment. You will receive a detailed manual as part of the training materials and will be expected to record all sessions given and received during the trainings as reflective journaling. Once you have completed all three modules along with a final written assignment, you will be certified as a practitioner.

Registration process

Suzanne is available for an in-person chat or online meeting to discuss any aspects of the training. This will provide clarity about the course and this modality.

To secure your place in the training a non-refundable deposit of $500 is required.
